Medical Insurance costs, prescriptions	I pay $68 for 20/80% per month (private) and pay for prescriptions. The Social Caja is cheaper, and prescriptions are free
Dentist bills , braces	$10 tooth not $45 per surface Braces newest, unbelievable low prices

AMBULANCE SERVICE IS UNBELIEVABLE FAST AND FREE

Car insurance	I pay $100 per year third party, no collision.
Regulations. Permits, restrictions	Presently low construction fees, permits no hassle
Traffic, jams. Hours to get anywhere	Bus service everywhere, taxi to the door. No traffic jams, only SJ.
Workers pay, household help	Min wage $2ph, lic. $6-12 Workers insurance fraction of elsewhere
HIGH CRIME EXPOSURE	Countryside NO PROBLEMS. I travel/live alone, no guard etc.
Children’s Safety	Countryside kids go to school, play outside unsupervised.

There is a local police station every few miles. Officers know locals by face, name and where you live.

Heating, Air condition bills	NONE, 70-85 year round. Maybe, a fan. Clothes, suitable year round.
Winter/summer clothes etc	Jacket in mountains, blanket at night. CR has wet and dry seasons.
Long/short days, nights	Sun rises 5.30-6 am. sets 5.30-6 pm year round.
Hormone/chemical meats, eggs? Genetic crops, fruits, no taste	Grow your own. Year round, CR is also raising lots of organic vegetables, fruits, and meats. pick them ripe, not gassed.
Water, bills and quality	I’m fortunate and have 2 rivers, many natural springs. Free pure water.
Privacy, noise pollution	With 100 acres you hear nothing but nature. No one watching you
Restrictions on animals, Leash laws, pooper baggies	I have had up to 20 horses, 11 cows 15dogs, 40 cats, I raise purebred animals as a living. No problems. They are confined to my property, with proper septic, and sanitary care. And fed good.

Other pluses, beautiful scenery everywhere, fantastic beaches, fishing, fresh and salt, mountain trails. Soccer on weekends, theater, woman's club { also men's }, friendly, helpful communities, tolerant of different religions, life styles. shopping malls, CR is changing rapidly to modern building, banking, education, medical.

Down side, telephone service, internet, (ICE) Secondary roads, bridges, garbage, dishonest lawyers and businessmen , The international trade agreement with competition, should straighten things out fast. But its still less problems than most countries.

All things considered it can really be paradise here.
